This class is a survey of Renaissance art in Italy and across Northern Europe. Students will study the painting, sculpture, and architecture of the Renaissance from around 1300 to sixteenth- century Mannerism, interpreting the works within their historical and religious context. Artists such as Giotto, Masaccio, Brunelleschi, Donatello, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo and Titian, etc. will be studied as significant contributors to the development of art during this period.
